As a professor, I am researching the area of simulation, serious gaming and applied mobile healthcare -appointed to the University of Amsterdam. As a practicing upper GI surgeon in the Amsterdam UMC, I am researching how technology and digital innovation fits optimally in healthcare and in medical education. 

I make an effort to bridge between initiatives, perceptions and regulations of the work floor within and between diverse governing bodies. Doing so, I am a board member of several institutes and hospitals.
